8-Day Gorilla Safari in Uganda and Rwanda 

Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Your Hotel 

 

On your arrival at Entebbe International Airport (EBB), you will be met by our Stories & Places Travel staff that will brief you and transfer you to your hotel for relaxation. Have dinner as you completely relax and refresh from the long jet lag and prepare for the next days’ adventure.

Day 2: Travel to Murchison Falls National Park - Visit the Top of Murchison Enroute Ziwa Rhino sanctuary 

 

After breakfast, you will be picked by our company representative and kick start this day’s nature adventure with an exciting road trip to Murchison Falls National Park. Along the way, you will make a stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary where rhinos are being reintroduced to the wild in Uganda so that you have a complete feel of the African Big Five mammals. It is the rhinos, out of the Big Five that are missing in Murchison Falls National Park. You will have lunch at the sanctuary and some relaxation for an indefinitely short time and embark on an exciting road trip to Murchison Falls. Upon arrival inside the park, you will be amazed by the beautiful landscape while occasionally sighting warthogs and other wildlife with a drive to the top of the falls whose views are breathtaking.

Day 3: Game Drive through the Park and Boat Ride on the Victoria Nile 

After your early morning breakfast, our driver guide will pick you up for the early game drive. Explore the major game trails especially around the area of Paraa for good game spotting including lots of elephants, lions, giraffes, antelopes, jackals, hyenas, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, Jackson's hartebeests and hopefully the elusive leopards among others. 
Later on, return to the lodge for your lunch and some relaxation for an indefinite short time. Later, we'll set out for the afternoon boat ride on the Victoria Nile which is the highlight of any Murchison Falls safari. You'll get to spot lots of animals at a close encounter. You will have to spot lots of hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, and many other animals that come to drink water, refresh and cool themselves off the scorching sun. Some animals also come to eat the fresh grass along the river banks.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park 

 

Have breakfast and depart with your packed lunch to Kibale National Park. This scenic drive takes about 8 hours. You will pass close to Lake Albert. On a clear day, the view on the top of the Albert Rift is spectacular. Pass through Fort Portal town arriving late in the evening for relaxation at the lodge.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking Tour in Kibale Forest, Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park 

 

After early breakfast, you will transfer to the park offices to meet the ranger guides for pre-trek briefing. Afterwards, you will set off to trek into forest to track a community of chimpanzees. While you trek through the forest you will observe plenty of other wildlife. Other primates which you may spot include red Colobus monkey, L’Hoest monkey, grey-cheeked mangabey, and vervet monkeys. The bird lovers spot many forest specials from a total of 335 bird species recorded in the forest. The chimps which will be swinging through trees with so much speed, pant hooting, slapping the tree barks and screaming to locate each other. It is an adrenaline giving atmosphere and a memorable experience. You will then return to the lodge for lunch. 
Later in the day, you shall transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will view wildlife and amazing landscapes en-route as you transfer to the lodge for relaxation.

Day 6: Tree-climbing Lions in Ishasha to Bwindi 

 

On this day, you will transfer to the land of gorillas through the Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park on the way. This area is known for its tree-climbing lions. Lunch will be en-route. 
In Ishasha, we will drive off in this adventurous vast savannah area with topis and the southern version of elephants to hopefully get to see the lions high in the fig tree branches. You will arrive late evening in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park for relaxation.

Day 7: Trekking Mountain Gorillas in Bwindi National Park-Batwa Community Walk 

 

After breakfast and briefing by park ranger guides, depart with picnic lunch boxes to start trekking. This activity can last up to 4 hours or more to find the mountain gorillas as you hike up and down slippery slopes with dense mist covered vegetation. Hence you will have packed lunch for this activity. This active quest will eventually bring you to the face of one of the most sought after creatures, the mountain gorillas. 
Upon reaching them, you will have a full hour with them while observing and learning their behavior as you take photos. Later, return to the lodge for a relaxed evening.

Day 8: Transfer from Bwindi to Kigali Airport 

 

After breakfast at your pace, you will check out and be transferred to Kigali city with a stopover for lunch and other stopovers for photography and scenic views as dictated by you. You will have a chance to visit the Genocide Museum in Kigali with refreshments and relaxation moments in the city. You will later
